LYT Birthday Extravaganza Giveaway | DAY 1 - Gidore presents Philip Kingsley [CLOSED]

So the day has finally come for the first official giveaway celebrating LYT's 2nd year b-day! As said in the initial Birthday Giveaway Extravaganza post, today's giveaway is dangerously amazing! Even more exciting is the fact that it is not so readily available online, neither do Philip Kingsley sell it on their site!

The yummy giveaway is sponsored by our fave sky news reader Lukwesa Burak, founder of online retailer and curly, kinky, mixed race haircare community Gidore
Both myself and Lukwesa share a serious love for the much raved about Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Extreme pre-shampoo treatment [it's one of my two pre-poo staples an leaves my hair baby bum soft!]. A huge thank you goes out to Lukwesa who insisted on sponsoring this giveaway out of her very own personal product stash! Yes that's right! Philip Kinglsey gave this to Lukwesa and she has decided to give to a lucky LYT tress lover out of the generosity of her heart! What's more it's not just any tub of Elasticizer Extreme, it's a 500ml tub!!!

Let me break this down!

  2. I would describe my hair as, charismatic.

My hair has its own charming appeal. Somedays it short, other days its a textured fro'. Sometimes it curly othertimes it coily. I never know how a style is going to turn out, so I'm always on my toes. My hair journey is a wonderful adventure definitely appealing and sometimes mesmerizing.

  3. Unique - simply because there is no one else with my exact same head of hair!

  4. DYNAMIC

I chose to describe my hair as dynamic because I can wear several different styles and texture within any given week whether my hair is relaxed or "natural". It's healthy. It has movement, body, and hold all at once. I am not my hair but it is a part of me and has just as much personality as I do.

  5. My hair is
WILD - because it defies gravity.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Versatile - because I can style it in many ways, ways some hair types can never dream of :) and sometimes when I don't give it as much attention as it deserves or when a style does't turn out as intended, my hair stays loyal and manages to bounce back somehow.

  8. My hair is Art! When my hair is out, I've always used it to express the "quirky-ness" of who am, and also my elegance. Going natural, I see even more how God made me (and my hair) to be a unique art piece and I love it!

  9. one word to describe my hair? unpredictable.

i know people say this a LOT but its so true, my hair is my crown! lol its unpredictable in the sense that i wake up every morning not knowing what it'll be like. some days its dry and dull and i know my hair is telling me she's unhappy & (i'll most likely end up with a silk scarf or hat for the day) and then other days silky smooth and glowing. in a lot of ways, my hair reflects my personality; outgoing and a little bit weird.

i love how i can wake up every morning and style it to match my mood :)

  12. Relaxtastic

Relaxtastic because I am proud of my long relaxed ends and they display my consistency, patients and tender care I have given to my locks. They also give women hope that hair does grow.

  13. My hair is fierce!

I love it because it allows me to be unique. When my hair is out its, amazing how versatile it is. I'm natural by the way so I can have it in a twist out or as a fro or straight. Absolutely fierce!

  14. Happy Bday LYT!

DREAMY - It was hard for me to come up with only one word, but I chose dreamy because I am witnessing my hair becoming what I've always dreamed of: healthy, long, thick, strong. And I am so extremely thankful!

  15. Beautiful!!

Because during this process of transitioning, seeing the (how God intended) natural texture of my hair grow has me in awe/amazement every time!!!

  16. My hair is BI-POLAR! Lol sometimes it does exactly what it's told, sometimes it just has a mind of its own and I think it forgets who's boss but I love it anyway!

  17. Fun!
I neglected my relaxed hair and wore the same style alllll the time. Now I am having fun experimenting with styles and products. Yes, somethings are a challenge sometimes, but it's so much more interesting than my limp ponytail!

  18. My hair is dryyyyy! I've been wanting to try this out for ages, but it's a little pricey for my student budget :(
I follow you on bloglovin' (emilygpaterson@aol.com) and have written on the Gidore facebook wall (Emily Paterson) :)

  19. My hair is.....MINE!!!

I have tried so many products after watching youtube and blogs and they worked for everyone else but were epic failures when applied to my hair. Over the course of my journey, I have learned that my hair is MY own. It's thick in density, but fine when its relates to individual strands. It is beautiful, unique, and all mine.

  20. My hair is through! I'm waiting for the perm to grow out so I can simply be dark and lovely again in my natural hair style being my natural self. I wear scarfs, and love hats, sometime I even wear a wig hat because my hair is just through! I am patiently waiting to relieve my hair of this perm, which I never wanted in the first place. I've always loved my natural hair and will never perm it again once it grows out. Sister, I'm so glad I browsed upon your page and I wish you success in your endeavor to educate other sisters and brothers; I suppose, on the importance of being naturally beautiful in our own skin and of course our heavenly hair. I see today so-o-o many non-blacks, trying to wear dreds,or braids and that tells you, how bad we are on a natural hair style day.

    Thanks and Good Luck

  21. My Hair is INSPIRATIONAL! This is because having natural hair can be so complex at first, however learning, researching and reading more about healthy hair tips, skin etc has inspired me to not only understand my own hair as best as possible, but also nurture my hair. The results have amazed me and inspired me to continue. Everyone's hair is different but all hair requires major TLC :D

    Love, light and healthy hair

  26. My hair is Schizophrenia..lol...I love my hair but something she is hard to understand (yes my hair is a girl). One today she would be soft and bouncy and next day my ends are hard and lack moisture. I have the same regime and products but I can't understand why the state of my hair changes.

  27. My hair is intriguing

My hair is intriguing to me because just when I think there is no more I can do with my hair strands I discover something new my tresses can do and I fall in love with my hair all over again!

The way the curls spring out of my scalp peek my interest and intrigues me, the way my hair moulds to perm rods, flexi rods and other styling tools and produces a whole different curl intrigues me, the way it deceives me & others when it shrinks and clings to my scalp as soon as h20 hits it intrigues me ... my hair is .... INTRIGUING to me and I hope it continues to fascinate me and others for years to come as it has brought together millions of people worldwide!

  40. My hair is JOURNEYING -- it's always on the move. I'm always doing something to my hair to take it to my final destination of health, length, shine and thickness! I've been really dedicated to my regimen, and the results are beginning to show. So that's my word -- JOURNEYING -- and I would LOVE to carry the Gidore along on my journey! ^_^

  41. Transforming - I have relaxed hair. Before I started my HHJ I used to relax my hair every 6 weeks as it was simply unmanageable. Now that I have started looking after it, thanks to your advice and other hair bloggers, I can stretch my relaxer to 12 -16 weeks without any issues. I am amazed to say the least. Hence I say my hair is transforming - I feel like it has under a transformation!

  43. Unpredictable! That's exactly how my hair is... For example, I'd be recreating a style that i'v done in my hair before, but my hair will just refuse to look how it looked the previous times... I dont get it... But I love that it gets uncooperative at times, because in cases like those, i'll end up trying a new style with my hair and end up loving it!
