lyt 12 days of Christmas Haircare charity special : day 8

Despite being cut off a day from the challenge due to Blogger difficulties, the show must go on and today I am very excited to introduce our Charity of the day which is...

Alopecia UK

What is Alopecia?

Alopecia is a general term used for hair loss; this can be a small bald patch on the head or the loss of all the hair over the entire body.

Types of Alopecia?

Alopecia Areata (AA)

Used to describe hair loss occurring in patches anywhere on the body.

Alopecia Totalis (AT)

Total loss of the hair on the scalp.

Alopecia Universalis (AU)

Total loss of all hair on the body.

Alopecia Barbae

Loss of facial hair (for a man) especially in the beard area.

Alopecia Mucinosa

A type of alopecia which results in scaly patches.

What causes Alopecia?

The exact cause of alopecia areata isn’t known, although it’s generally agreed it’s a disease of the immune system. There is believed to be a genetic component in some cases and a possible link with stress.

What difference can you make?
